Burial of the bark è la performance che il danzatore e coreografo Akira Yoshida porterà in scena al teatro di Körper, centro nazionale di produzione della danza, (in piazza Vittoria, Napoli) sabato 8 novembre, alle 19.
Lo spettacolo dell’artista rientra in una vera e propria sfilata degli astri nascenti proposti dal centro sfilata degli astri nascenti delle arti performative internazionali. Storia di una solitudine, tra smarrimento e ricerca dell’altro (foto).
Eclettico Yoshida, performer che ha mosso i suoi primi passi nella breaking per poi avvicinarsi alla danza e all’arte contemporanea. La sua formazione lo ha portato dalla Navarra, dove ha vinto la principale borsa di studio artistica, a Salisburgo: qui ha studiato al SEAD, Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance.
Una carriera punteggiata da collaborazioni con compagnie internazionali tra cui Peeping Tom, Lali Aguadé Company e Yoann Bourgeois. La sua ricerca sul corpo e sulla danza è arrivata fino alle passerelle di Louis Vouitton, nella sfilata di Virgil Abloh, e alla pubblicità, con J.O.T.T. e Polaroid.
Yoshida ha sviluppato una poetica personale fatta anche di duetti e assoli. Tra questi ultimi rientra Burial of the Bark, il racconto di un personaggio che, avendo perso il contatto con la realtà, continua il suo cammino verso il nulla, avanzando senza alcuno scopo se non quello di sentirsi compreso.

Burial of the bark is the performance that dancer and choreographer Akira Yoshida will stage at the Körper theatre, the national dance production centre (in Piazza Vittoria, Naples) on Saturday the 8th of November at 7pm.
The artist’s show is part of a veritable parade of rising stars presented by the centre for rising stars of international performing arts. A story of loneliness, between loss and the search for the other (photo).
Yoshida is an eclectic performer who took his first steps in breaking before moving on to dance and contemporary art. His training took him from Navarra, where he won the main artistic scholarship, to Salzburg, where he studied at SEAD, the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance.
His career has been punctuated by collaborations with international companies including Peeping Tom, Lali Aguadé Company and Yoann Bourgeois. His research into the body and dance has taken him to the catwalks of Louis Vuitton, in Virgil Abloh’s fashion show, and to advertising, with J.O.T.T. and Polaroid.
Yoshida has developed a personal poetics that also includes duets and solos. Among the latter is Burial of the Bark, the story of a character who, having lost touch with reality, continues his journey towards nothingness, advancing with no purpose other than to feel understood.
