Un premio internazionale dedicato a Roberto Murolo. Sabato 28 marzo alle 18 verrà ospitato dal Casinò di Sanremo. Un ponte culturale tra Napoli e la città dei fiori nel segno anche di suo padre, il poeta Ernesto, a 150 anni dalla nascita.
L’iniziativa è curata dalla Fondazione Roberto Murolo in collaborazione con Napulitanata e nato da un’idea di Nando e Mario Coppeto,
Portare il Premio Murolo al Casinò di Sanremo significa riprendere una intuizione culturale germogliata ben novantacinque anni fa. Fu proprio al Casinò che, nel Natale 1931, Ernesto Murolo ebbe la visione pionieristica di portare la canzone napoletana fuori dai suoi confini naturali, creando il “Festival Napoletano”.
Un’iniziativa realizzata grazie al direttore dell’epoca, il napoletano De Santis, che scelse l’edificio, diventato poi il tempio della canzone italiana, per celebrare la musica partenopea.
Il premio s’interseca con tre ricorrenze: i 150 anni dalla nascita di Ernesto Murolo, i 95 anni da quello storico festival e i 25 anni dalla creazione della Fondazione Roberto Murolo.
Roberto Murolo, indimenticabile chansonnier, fu protagonista assoluto al Casinò già nel 1982 con il Premio Tenco e, successivamente all’Ariston, sul palco del Festival della canzone Italiana nel 1993. E inoltre, nel 2002, a lui fu assegnato il premio alla carriera proprio durante la kermesse sanremese, in collegamento video dalla sua casa napoletana, di recente divenuta Casa Museo, accessibile al pubblico.
Quattro i prestigiosi riconoscimenti conferiti durante la serata, elaborati dagli studenti dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli: il Premio alla carriera sarà conferito a Renzo Arbore; Il Premio Mida a Raiz; La Targa Nando Coppeto al manager e imprenditore musicale Luciano Chirico; il Premio Internazionale Roberto Murolo 2026 a Enzo Gragnaniello.
Oltre ai premiati, saliranno sul palco l’ensemble di Napulitanata, i Ladaniva, il duo Emanuela Loffredo e Maurizio Pica. A Peppe Barra sarà affidata la conclusone della serata. La canzone napoletana si riprende ilpalcoscenico nella città dei fiori, dopo la recente vittoria di Sal Da Vinci.

An international award dedicated to Roberto Murolo. It will be hosted by the Sanremo Casino on Saturday 28 March at 6 pm. A cultural bridge between Naples and the City of Flowers, also honouring his father, the poet Ernesto, 150 years after his birth.
The initiative is organised by the Roberto Murolo Foundation in collaboration with Napulitanata and stems from an idea by Nando and Mario Coppeto,
Bringing the Murolo Award to the Sanremo Casino means reviving a cultural vision that first took root ninety-five years ago. It was at the Casino itself that, at Christmas 1931, Ernesto Murolo – poet and father of Roberto – had the pioneering vision of taking Neapolitan song beyond its natural boundaries, creating the ‘Festival Napoletano’. This initiative was made possible thanks to the director at the time, the Neapolitan De Santis, who chose the building – which later became the temple of Italian song – to celebrate Neapolitan music.
The award coincides with three anniversaries: the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ernesto Murolo, the 95th anniversary of that historic festival, and the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Roberto Murolo Foundation.
Roberto Murolo, the unforgettable chansonnier, was the star of the show at the Casinò as early as 1982 with the Tenco Prize, and later at the Ariston Theatre, on the stage of the Italian Song Festival in 1993. Furthermore, in 2002, he was awarded the Lifetime achievement award during the Sanremo Festival itself, via video link from his home in Naples, which has recently been converted into a House Museum, open to the public.
Four prestigious awards will be given during the evening, designed by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples: the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Renzo Arbore; The Mida Award to Raiz; the Nando Coppeto Plaque to music manager and entrepreneur Luciano Chirico; and the 2026 Roberto Murolo International Award to Enzo Gragnaniello.
In addition to the award winners, the Napulitanata ensemble, Ladaniva, and the duo Emanuela Loffredo and Maurizio Pica will take to the stage. Peppe Barra will bring the evening to a close.
