District IV. S’intitola così l’opera di Christian Leperino che venerdì 3 ottobre alle 17 sarà inaugurata al centro Chikù di Scampia, in Largo della Cittadinanza Attiva. L’artista dialogherà con il pubblico insieme a Daniela Savy, Docente di diritto europeo dei beni culturali all’università Federico II e coordinatrice del progetto Obvia_extramann. Interverrà anche Nicola Nardella, Presidente VIII Municipalità.
Durante l’incontro sarà presentato il progetto dal titolo “Dove comincia la città”, che si sviluppa negli spazi del Moss ecomuseo di Scampia e dell’Auditorium Fabrizio De André.
Christian Leperino, insieme con gli artisti Trisha Palma e Stefano Cammarota, guiderà per due mesi un gruppo di giovani della città tra i 16 e i 30 anni nella creazione di un’opera d’arte collettiva, dall’alto contenuto simbolico e partecipativo, dal titolo “Costellazioni. Piatti di Comunità. Dalle mani della comunità nascono stelle di condivisione, creatività e nutrimento”. Il progetto è promosso e finanziato dal Comune di Napoli nell’ambito della programmazione di arte contemporanea 2025.
Il lavoro di Leperino rappresenta un paesaggio onirico che evoca le stratificazioni della memoria urbana a partire da uno sguardo inedito sulle periferie urbane. Punto di partenza di dialoghi con gli abitanti del territorio.
Seguiranno laboratori artistici coordinati dallo stesso Leperino, con la collaborazione di Trisha Palma e Stefano Cammarota per la realizzazione di un’opera collettiva.
Spiega l’artista: «Le periferie sono paesaggi che respirano, laboratori a cielo aperto dove la città rivela la sua anima più autentica. Attraverso le mie opere invito a guardarle come presidi culturali, luoghi di creatività e di pensiero politico, capaci di trasformare i margini in centri di un nuovo immaginario collettivo».

Centro Chikù/ District IV: Christian Leperino talks with Scampia. The suburbs, bastions of culture and places of thought
District IV. This is the title of Christian Leperino’s work, which will be inaugurated on Friday the3rd of October at 5 pm at the Chikù centre in Scampia, in Largo della Cittadinanza Attiva. The artist will talk to the public together with Daniela Savy, Professor of European Cultural Heritage Law at Federico II University and coordinator of the Obvia_extramann project. Nicola Nardella, President of the VIII Municipality, will also speak.
During the meeting, the project entitled “Where the city begins” will be presented, which is being developed in the spaces of the Moss Ecomuseum in Scampia and the Fabrizio De André Auditorium.
Christian Leperino, together with artists Trisha Palma and Stefano Cammarota, will lead a group of young people from the city aged between 16 and 30 for two months in the creation of a collective work of art with a highly symbolic and participatory content, entitled ‘Constellations. Community Plates. From the hands of the community, stars of sharing, creativity and nourishment are born’. The project is promoted and funded by the City of Naples as part of its 2025 contemporary art programme.
Leperino’s work represents a dreamscape that evokes the stratifications of urban memory, starting from a new perspective on the suburbs. It is a starting point for dialogue with the inhabitants of the area.
This will be followed by art workshops coordinated by Leperino himself, with the collaboration of Trisha Palma and Stefano Cammarota, for the creation of a collective work.
The artist explains: “Suburbs are landscapes that breathe, open-air laboratories where the city reveals its most authentic soul. Through my works, I invite people to see them as cultural centres, places of creativity and political thought, capable of transforming the margins into centres of a new collective imagination”.
