Il Museo Madre, culla dell’arte contemporanea a Napoli, compie 20 anni. Per celebrali, la Fondazione Donnaregina ospita per tre giorni (5, 6 e 7 giugno) la performance Rub up on Madre del coreografo e ballerino australiano Adam Linder con Justin Kennedy, Leah Katz, Mickey Mahar, Noha Ramadan, Stephen Thompson, a cura di Gigiotto Del Vecchio.
Linder approda per la prima volta a Napoli con un progetto pensato per il Madre, prodotto dalla Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporanee – museo Madre con l’organizzazione di Archivorum e il supporto degli Amici del Madre.
La coreografia site specific che mette in relazione spettatore, performer e spazio, la performance Rub Up on Madre si terrà nel cortile del museo di via Settembrini giovedì 5 giugno dalle ore 19.30 alle ore 22.30 (ingresso libero fino ad esaurimento dei posti disponibili), con repliche venerdì 6 e sabato 7 giugno (ore 16 -19).
La performance è curata da Gigiotto Del Vecchio: «Rub up on Madre è una performance che rientra nei Choreographic services, lavori concepiti da Linder specificatamente per spazi artistici, che si possono vivere in maniera personalizzata, dove il pubblico decide il tempo da dedicare all’esperienza performativa e la coreografia è al servizio della fruizione. Stabilire una connessione profonda con il Museo, attraverso i movimenti dei ballerini, significa entrare in relazione non solo con il luogo fisico, ma anche con tutto ciò che esso rappresenta: un insieme di significati formativi, culturali e professionali».
In scena, cinque danzatori esibirsi in una coreografia di tre ore: un flusso continuo di movimento e relazione con l’architettura, durante la quale il visitatore può scegliere liberamente il momento del proprio accesso e la durata della propria esperienza come pubblico. I performer, rivolgendosi alle pareti dell’istituzione e distogliendo lo sguardo dal pubblico, saranno concentrati sulla struttura stessa che li contiene, passando dalla seduzione alla passività, dal mimetismo all’astrazione, e prendendo l’architettura come partner principale.
L’ingresso alla performance è libero e gratuito giovedì 5 e venerdì 6 giugno, mentre il 7 giugno è compreso nel biglietto del museo. Il 6 anche l’ingresso al museo è libero e si potrà visitare la collezione permanente, il primo capitolo della mostra Gli Anni a cura di Eva Fabbris, prorogata fino al 30 giugno, e la recente mostra Euforia Tomaso Binga a cura di Eva Fabbris con Daria Khan, exhibition design Rio Grande (fino al 21 luglio).

Madre/ The museum turns 20 and celebrates its birthday with Australian choreographer and dancer Adam Linder
The Madre Museum, the cradle of contemporary art in Naples, turns 20. To celebrate its birthday, the Donnaregina Foundation is hosting for three days (5, 6 and 7 June) the performance Rub up on Madre by the Australian choreographer and dancer Adam Linder with Justin Kennedy, Leah Katz, Mickey Mahar, Noha Ramadan, Stephen Thompson, curated by Gigiotto Del Vecchio.
Linder arrives in Naples for the first time with a project conceived for the Madre, produced by the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts – Madre Museum with the organization of Archivorum and the support of the Friends of the Madre.
The site-specific choreography that connects the spectator, performer and space, the performance Rub Up on Madre will be held in the courtyard of the museum in via Settembrini on Thursday 5 June from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm (free admission until all available seats are taken), with repeats on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 June (4-7 pm).
The performance is curated by Gigiotto Del Vecchio: «Rub up on Madre is a performance that is part of the Choreographic services, works conceived by Linder specifically for artistic spaces, which can be experienced in a personalized way, where the public decides the time to dedicate to the performance experience and the choreography is at the service of enjoyment. Establishing a deep connection with the Museum, through the dancers’ movements, means entering into a relationship not only with the physical place, but also with everything it represents: a set of educational, cultural and professional meanings».
On stage, five dancers perform a three-hour choreography: a continuous flow of movement and relationship with the architecture, during which the visitor can freely choose the moment of their access and the duration of their experience as an audience. The performers, turning to the walls of the institution and looking away from the public, will be focused on the very structure that contains them, moving from seduction to passivity, from mimicry to abstraction, and taking the architecture as their main partner.
Admission to the performance is free on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 June, while on 7 June it is included in the museum ticket. On the 6th, admission to the museum is also free and you can visit the permanent collection, the first chapter of the exhibition Gli Anni curated by Eva Fabbris, extended until 30 June, and the recent exhibition Euforia Tomaso Binga curated by Eva Fabbris with Daria Khan, exhibition design Rio Grande (until 21 July).
