Good vibrations. Le propone l’artista campana Mary Cinque che vive e lavora ad Agerola: oggi, inaugurazione 7 alle 18, a Palazzo Ricca (via dei Tribunali 213).
L’esposizione rientra nella rassegna “Entrée assaggi d’arte contemporanea” curata da Carla Viparelli e sostenuta dalla Fondazione Banco Napoli. Il progetto artistico è composto da un serie di opere tutte realizzate con la tecnica del pastello a olio su carta, ed è la prima volta che questo stile viene proposto nella programmazione di Entrée.
L’artista comincia a usarla durante il suo soggiorno londinese dal 2017 al 2019 approfondendola nel corso degli anni. Il pastello a olio diventa, così, per l’artista tutt’uno con la sua stessa ispirazione.
«Il titolo della mostra – commenta Viparelli- si riferisce allo stesso tempo sia al contenuto delle opere, sia alla tecnica con cui sono realizzate, sintetizzandone la sostanziale unità significante. Parafrasando Wim Wenders potremmo parlare di “Mary nelle città”, da sempre catturata dalla infinita e multiforme poesia che scaturisce dai paesaggi urbani e dalla vita vibrante della città. E quale tecnica migliore del pastello a olio, usato sapientemente dall’artista con tratteggio rapido, può esprimere la pulsazione della vita includendo in una stessa figura i pieni del colore e i vuoti della carta bianca del supporto, sistole e diastole del respiro delle scene rappresentate».
Giovedì 23 ottobre alle 18 a Palazzo Ricca ci sarà un dibattito che racconta la realtà affidandola a un tempo sospeso.

Good vibrations. Presented by Campania-born artist Mary Cinque, who lives and works in Agerola: today, opening at 7 p.m. at Palazzo Ricca (Via dei Tribunali 213)
The exhibition is part of the “Entrée assaggi d’arte contemporanea” (Entrée: a taste of contemporary art) project curated by Carla Viparelli and supported by the Banco Napoli Foundation. The artistic proposal consists of a series of works all created using the oil pastel on paper technique, and this is the first time this style has been featured in the Entrée programme.
The artist began using it during her stay in London from 2017 to 2019, developing it further over the years. Oil pastel thus became, for the artist, one with her own inspiration.
‘The title of the exhibition,“ comments Viparelli, ‘refers both to the content of the works and to the technique with which they are created, summarising their essential meaningful unity. To paraphrase Wim Wenders, we could talk about ‘Mary in the cities”, who has always been captivated by the infinite and multifaceted poetry that springs from urban landscapes and the vibrant life of the city. And what better technique than oil pastel, skilfully used by the artist with rapid strokes, to express the pulsation of life, including in the same figure the fullness of colour and the emptiness of the white paper of the support, the systole and diastole of the breath of the scenes represented.”
On Thursday the 23rd of October at 6 p.m. at Palazzo Ricca, there will be a debate that tells the story of reality by entrusting it to a suspended moment in time.
