Palpebra salvezza. Martedì 29 settembre dalle 18 la Shazar Gallery, spazio espositivo napoletano in via Pasquale Scura presenta la prima personale di Antoine Jacqz di origine francese e formazione belga. La mostra dell’artista francese rappresenta il terzo momento di un più ampio progetto il cui obiettivo è l’esplorazione della Storia e del Tempo quali elementi transitori tra linearità e “troppo e impossibilmente” umano. Fino al 21 novembre 2026, dal martedì al sabato dalle 14.30 alle 19.30 e su appuntamento.
Attraverso video, sculture e installazioni Jacqz entra in rapporto con lo spazio, ne diviene parte egli stesso insieme al lavoro che crea. Frutto di un periodo di residenza nel napoletano, il lavoro dell’artista si sviluppa su differenti canali visivi dalla forte matrice contestuale e territoriale, reinterpretando panorami e luci attraverso un personalissimo linguaggio evocativo.
Nel video in mostra il cratere del Vesuvio diventa specchio lunare contestandone, anche attraverso la citazione di Giordano Bruno, la coerenza cronologica. Gli elementi dell’indagine quindi vengono ribaltati, il progetto sembra prendere il sopravvento e si lascia fruire in tutta la sua materia e forma.
Prospettive del golfo, elementi vulcanici e objets trouves parlano di Napoli e ne cancellano l’iconografia, la smaterializzano. Come attraversato da un soffio, l’artista fissa momenti e oggetti rendendoli eterni conducendo un’indagine tesa verso l’astrazione e la rarefazione, dove lo spazio, la distanza, il vuoto e la durata rapiscono e conducono altrove.
Citazioni visive e letterarie supportano tale viaggio emblematico verso una dimensione eterea, sono accenni di realtà che appartiene alla sfera della conoscenza, di un atavico senso esperienziale. Con pochi e unici indizi Jacqz costruisce universi e narra storie sempre diverse e determinate.

Palpebra salvezza. On Tuesday the 29th of September from 6 pm, the Shazar Gallery, a Neapolitan exhibition space in Via Pasquale Scura, presents Palpebra salvezza, Antoine Jacqz’s first solo exhibition. The French artist’s exhibition marks the third instalment of a wider project aimed at exploring History and Time as transitional elements between linearity and the ‘too and impossibly’ human. Until 21 November 2026, Tuesday to Saturday from 2.30 pm to 7.30 pm and by appointment.
Through videos, sculptures and installations, Jacqz engages with the space, becoming part of it himself alongside the work he creates. The result of a residency in the Naples area, the artist’s work unfolds across various visual mediums with a strong contextual and territorial focus, reinterpreting landscapes and light through a highly personal, evocative language.
In the video on display, the crater of Vesuvius becomes a lunar mirror, challenging its chronological coherence – not least through a reference to Giordano Bruno. The elements of the investigation are thus turned on their head; the project seems to take the upper hand and allows itself to be experienced in all its materiality and form.
Views of the gulf, volcanic elements and objets trouvés speak of Naples whilst erasing its iconography, dematerialising it. As if swept by a breath, the artist captures moments and objects, rendering them eternal through an exploration that leans towards abstraction and rarefaction, where space, distance, emptiness and duration captivate and transport the viewer elsewhere.
Visual and literary references underpin this emblematic journey towards an ethereal dimension; they are hints of a reality that belongs to the realm of knowledge, of an atavistic experiential sense. With just a few, unique clues, Jacqz constructs universes and tells stories that are always different yet distinct.
