Art Days/ Tall blue shadows of creativity flood Naples and Campania (2–9 December)
Art Days Napoli Campania: From Wednesday the 2nd to Wednesday the 9th of December 2026, the sixth edition of this city-wide event dedicated to contemporary art returns, weaving together artistic creations, venues, communities and cultural heritage.
The new programme, presented at a press conference at the Madre Museum by the organisers from ATTIVA Cultural Projects – a non-profit association bringing together a team of under-35s led by Martina Campese, Raffaella Ferraro and Letizia Mari, alongside a scientific committee comprising Teresa Carnevale, Adriana Rispoli and Fabio Agovino – features dozens of initiatives, including talks, exhibitions, screenings and site-specific installations.
Organised with the support of the Campania Region as part of the 2026 Cultural Promotion Plan, under the patronage of the Donnaregina Foundation for Contemporary Arts – Madre Museum, and with the backing of Naples City Council and the Naples Chamber of Commerce, the initiative brings together institutions, galleries, independent venues and artists across the whole of Naples and Campania.
“Ombre azzurre, altissime” is the title inspired by the writings of Anna Maria Ortese: the event continues to champion literature as the preferred lens through which to examine the pressing issues of the present – as the organisers emphasise – whilst exploring the indispensable role of creativity as a necessary foundation for the life of a country and its citizens”.
It is divided into four sections: Art Agenda, Generazione Award, Public Programme and Special Projects.
Among the initiatives is Gay Odin’s partnership with the French Place gallery: the shop-workshop – a temple to chocolate – in Vico Vetriera a Chiaia will host a site-specific installation by Peruvian artist Andrea Ferrero, whilst La Santissima – Community Hub (the former Military Hospital) will serve as the hub for video art exhibitions featuring the Fabio Frasca Collection, installations from the Agovino Collection and vinyl listening sessions with Selecta, a satellite project of the Soul Express collective.
Also on the programme is the Archives Study Day at the Morra Foundation, dedicated to Maurizio Elettrico, featuring the launch of the book Pellerossa/The Sioux by Anna Maria Ortese, published by Dispaccio – Naples, and the publication of the Agenda dell’Arte, which brings together the various events organised across the region by museums (such as the Capodimonte Museum and Royal Park or the Gallerie d’Italia – Naples), archaeological sites, galleries and independent venues.
The Generazione Prize for the creation of new works, dedicated to Mimmo Rossetta and now in its fourth edition, will be awarded on the opening day of Art Days – Napoli Campania on the 2nd of December.
