Oltre trent’anni dopo, torna il presepe del museo Filangieri, Da domani, a distanza di decenni dall’ultima esposizione, incontreranno lo sguardo del pubblico lo scoglio presepiale e alcuni preziosi pastori antichi appartenenti alla collezione di Gaetano Filangieri junior e alla donazione Acton.
Nella suggestiva cornice della Biblioteca Gaetano Filangieri senior, l’iniziativa si inserisce nelle celebrazioni per i 150 anni dal ritorno di Gaetano Filangieri a Napoli, e rappresenta un momento di particolare significato ed emozione per la storia del Museo e della città.
Lo scoglio presepiale e i pastori del settecento e dell’ottocento della collezione Filangieri costituiscono testimonianze preziose di una tradizione artistica che ha reso Napoli celebre nel mondo. Visitatori e visitatici avranno l’opportunità di riscoprire un patrimonio artistico di inestimabile valore, perfettamente inserito nel contesto delle festività natalizie.
L’allestimento nella Biblioteca Gaetano Filangieri senior, accompagnato dalle note di “Quanno nascente ninno” dell’indimenticata Pina Cipriani sottolinea il legame indissolubile tra la famiglia Filangieri e la cultura napoletana ed offre, ai visitatori, un’esperienza unica nel cuore di uno dei musei più affascinanti della città.
Come avviene nella contemporanea tradizione dei presepi, che inserisce personaggi illustri tra i pastori antichi, è presente anche una personalità di grande rilievo storico: proprio Gaetano Filangieri denior. La statuetta ottocentesca del grande filosofo e giurista napoletano vuol ribadire quanto il presepe del museo Filangieri possa evocare uno dei più importanti capitoli della sua famosa “Scienza della legislazione”: il diritto alla felicità.
La mostra è realizzata grazie al contributo della Regione Campania nell’ambito della Legge Regionale 7/2003, art. 11, che sostiene la valorizzazione del patrimonio culturale campano.

More than thirty years later, the Filangieri Museum’s nativity scene returns. From tomorrow, decades after its last exhibition, the nativity scene and some precious antique shepherds belonging to the collection of Gaetano Filangieri Junior and the Acton donation will be on display to the public.
In the evocative setting of the Gaetano Filangieri Senior Library, the initiative is part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Gaetano Filangieri’s return to Naples and represents a moment of particular significance and emotion for the history of the museum and the city.
The nativity scene rock and the 18th- and 19th-century shepherds from the Filangieri collection are precious testimonies to an artistic tradition that has made Naples famous throughout the world. Visitors will have the opportunity to rediscover an artistic heritage of inestimable value, perfectly suited to the Christmas season.
The exhibition in the Gaetano Filangieri Senior Library, accompanied by the notes of “Quanno nascente ninno” by the unforgettable Pina Cipriani, highlights the unbreakable bond between the Filangieri family and Neapolitan culture and offers visitors a unique experience in the heart of one of the city’s most fascinating museums.
As in the contemporary tradition of nativity scenes, which include famous figures among the ancient shepherds, there is also a personality of great historical importance: Gaetano Filangieri himself. The nineteenth-century statuette of the great Neapolitan philosopher and jurist is meant to emphasise how the Filangieri Museum’s nativity scene evokes one of the most important chapters of his famous “Science of Legislation”: the right to happiness.
The exhibition has been made possible thanks to the contribution of the Campania Region under Regional Law 7/2003, art. 11, which supports the promotion of Campania’s cultural heritage.
