Tra le più autorevoli compagini musicali europee, la SWR Symphonieorchester di Stoccarda (foto) arriva a Ravello. Appuntamento di grande forza evocativa venerdì 25 luglio (ore 20) sul palcoscenico sospeso del Belvedere di Villa Rufolo. Diretta da Robert Treviño propone un programma interamente wagneriano.
In particolare, Der Ring ohne Worte (Il Ring senza parole) il celebre adattamento orchestrale della tetralogia ideata del compositore tedesco da Lorin Maazel nel 1987. Poderosa sequenza sinfonica che condensa, in poco più di un’ora, i momenti salienti dell’Anello del Nibelungo, dall’Oro del Reno all’apocalittico Crepuscolo degli dei, senza l’intervento del canto ma preservando integralmente i materiali musicali originali.
Una drammaturgia strumentale che restituisce, attraverso l’orchestra, la potenza simbolica e l’architettura sonora del capolavoro wagneriano. Un’occasione preziosa per ascoltare la grandiosità del Ring da una prospettiva nuova, quasi immersiva e accessibile, che esalta la scrittura orchestrale di Wagner in tutta la sua varietà e tensione narrativa.
La SWR Symphonieorchester di Stoccarda è un’orchestra nata nel 2016 dalla fusione delle due storiche formazioni radiofoniche ed è rinomata per la sua raffinatezza timbrica, per l’ampiezza di repertorio e per la lunga tradizione di interpretazioni di altissimo profilo. Robert Treviño, attuale direttore musicale della Basque National Orchestra e direttore principale ospite dell’Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI ha conquistato in pochi anni i podi più importanti del mondo grazie a un gesto elegante e a una profonda intelligenza musicale.

Among Europe’s most authoritative musical ensembles, the Stuttgart SWR Symphony Orchestra arrives in Ravello. A powerfully evocative performance will take place on Friday, July 25th (8:00 pm) on the suspended stage of the Belvedere at Villa Rufolo. Conducted by Robert Treviño, the orchestra presents an entirely Wagnerian program.
In particular, Der Ring ohne Worte (The Ring Without Words), the celebrated orchestral adaptation of the German composer’s tetralogy conceived by Lorin Maazel in 1987. This powerful symphonic sequence condenses, in just over an hour, the key moments of the Ring of the Nibelung, from “The Rhinegold” to the apocalyptic “Twilight of the Gods,” without the intervention of song but fully preserving the original musical material.
An instrumental dramaturgy that conveys, through the orchestra, the symbolic power and sonic architecture of Wagner’s masterpiece. A precious opportunity to hear the grandeur of the Ring from a new, almost immersive and accessible perspective, which highlights Wagner’s orchestral writing in all its variety and narrative tension.
The SWR Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart was formed in 2016 from the merger of two historic radio orchestras and is renowned for its refined timbre, breadth of repertoire, and long tradition of high-profile performances.
