«La scultura è come l’arte drammatica, la più difficile e insieme la più facile di tutte le arti. Copiate un modello, e l’opera è compiuta; ma imprimervi un’anima, creare un tipo, nel rappresentare un uomo e una donna, è il peccato di Prometeo. Nella scultura questi successi sono rari quanto nell’umanità lo sono i poeti».
In poche frasi, il drammaturgo e scrittore francese Honoré de Balzac tratteggia la forza di chi, scolpendo, riesce a creare emozioni d’arte puntando diritto al cuore.
In passato e nel presente, la scultura è continua evoluzione, alla ricerca di forme e soprattutto di idee nuove. Spesso può diventare anche provocatoria, invitando alla riflessione e sfidando convenzioni tradizionali. Su questa strada sicuramente camminano due autori proposti da Saverio Ammendola nella sua galleria napoletana a Fuorigrotta in via Consalvo 99h. L’inaugurazione dell’esposizione dal titolo Ieri e domani sarà venerdì 10 aprile, alle 18.
Spiega il gallerista: «Nell’ambito degli studi di scultura, la scelta di unire Lucio Ddt art e Nikla CaveCanem in una mostra, è data dal loro rapporto con il tempo. Lucio Ddt art è proiettato in un futuro tecnologico (foto) dove il rapporto tra uomo e macchina tende a una autotrasformazione, la cui fine è un connubio tossico. Nikla CaveCanem avverte, che come i dinosauri, l’uomo tende alla sua scomparsa. Tutti e due partono dall’Accademia di Napoli».
Da un’ Accademia che si rivela essere ancora oggi culla di talenti capaci di sviluppare proposte innovative e sorprendenti.

‘Sculpture is like the dramatic arts: the most difficult and yet the easiest of all the arts. Copy a model, and the work is complete; but to breathe life into it, to create a character, to portray a man or a woman – that is the sin of Prometheus. In sculpture, such achievements are as rare as poets are in humanity.’
In just a few sentences, the French playwright and writer Honoré de Balzac captures the power of those who, through sculpture, manage to create artistic emotions that strike straight at the heart.
Both in the past and today, sculpture is in constant evolution, seeking new forms and, above all, new ideas. It can often become provocative too, inviting reflection and challenging traditional conventions. Two artists presented by Saverio Ammendola at his Neapolitan gallery in Fuorigrotta, at Via Consalvo 99h, are certainly following this path. The opening of the exhibition, entitled ‘Yesterday and Tomorrow’, will take place on Friday 10 April at 6 pm.
The gallery owner explains: ‘Within the field of sculpture, the decision to bring together Lucio Ddt art and Nikla CaveCanem in an exhibition stems from their relationship with time. Lucio Ddt art is projected into a technological future (photo) where the relationship between man and machine tends towards self-transformation, the end result of which is a toxic union. Nikla CaveCanem warns that, like the dinosaurs, mankind is heading towards extinction. Both artists began their careers at the Academy of Naples.”
