Il campione olimpico porta in scena la sua vita al Teatro Sannazaro. “Educazione, formazione e valore: Patrizio Oliva” è il progetto che sensibilizza ragazzi, genitori e insegnanti contro i soprusi e la violenza tra coetanei.
Dalla fatica del ring alla luce del palcoscenico, Patrizio Oliva continua a combattere. Questa volta non per un titolo mondiale, ma per una causa sociale: la lotta al bullismo. L’ex campione olimpico e mondiale di pugilato ha raccontato la sua storia sul palco, davanti a quasi trecento studenti provenienti da cinque scuole di Napoli e provincia: l’IC 5 Montale di Scampia, il Gabelli-Colletta, il Pertini di Afragola, Galiani e Diaz.
L’incontro rientra nel progetto “Educazione, formazione e valore: Patrizio vs Oliva”, promosso dall’associazione culturale Arteteca con il contributo del Ministro per lo Sport e i Giovani, attraverso il Dipartimento per lo Sport, e con il sostegno di Union Gas e Luce.
Un’iniziativa culturale con l’obiettivo di contrastare e ridurre fino ad annullare i comportamenti di bullismo giovanile che si manifestano nelle diverse forme di violenza verbale, fisica e psicologica.
La sensibilizzazione, l’educazione, la condivisione e la promozione di un ambiente scolastico sicuro e accogliente sono gli strumenti che il progetto intende fornire a tutti i giovani e le famiglie, per superare i limiti della punibilità sostituendoli con la forza della consapevolezza.
Oliva ripercorre la sua vita personale e sportiva, mettendo a nudo con coraggio e senza filtri la drammaticità delle vicende che hanno attraversato e segnato la quotidianità della vita familiare e che solo con caparbietà, forza morale e crescente maturità è riuscito a superare fino a farle diventare un momento di forza e crescita culturale e sociale.
«Il mio è uno spettacolo rivolto ai giovani – ha spiegato Oliva –. Il mio vissuto dimostra che si possono coronare i propri sogni anche partendo da contesti difficili. Non esistono scorciatoie: solo lavoro, fatica e sudore portano al successo. In un’epoca dominata dai social, è importante trasmettere questi valori per evitare che i ragazzi intraprendano strade pericolose. Lo sport è un potente strumento educativo e di crescita personale».
Lo spettacolo, tratto dal libro “Lo sparviero” e diretto da Alfonso Postiglione, ha visto Oliva interpretare sé stesso, affiancato dall’attrice Rossella Pugliese, nei panni della madre del campione. Dopo la rappresentazione, sono saliti sul palco anche gli attori del film tv realizzato da Cinema Fiction per RaiUno, con Ciro Minopoli nel ruolo dell’ex pugile napoletano.
Al termine della messa in scena, si è tenuto un vivace dibattito con gli studenti, moderato da Maurizio Marino, organizzatore del progetto. Oliva ha lanciato un messaggio forte contro il bullismo: «Molti di voi lo prendono con leggerezza, ma il bullismo lascia ferite profonde. Essere bulli oggi porta a essere delinquenti domani. Studiate, acculturatevi: solo così potrete combattere e vincere contro la criminalità»
Sul palco anche il professor Francesco Bocchini, docente di diritto costituzionale all’Università della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, che ha sottolineato l’importanza dell’iniziativa: «Dobbiamo ringraziare Patrizio Oliva e Rossella Pugliese per aver raccontato ai ragazzi la vita vera. Ognuno di loro ha dentro la stessa fiamma che ha spinto Patrizio a non arrendersi».
Con la forza dei suoi pugni e la dolcezza delle sue parole, Patrizio Oliva continua così la sua battaglia più importante: educare i giovani al rispetto, alla determinazione e al valore della vita.

The Olympic champion brings his life to the stage at the Teatro Sannazaro. ‘Education, training and values: Patrizio Oliva’ is a project that raises awareness among young people, parents and teachers about bullying and violence among the teenagers.
From the rigours of the boxing ring to the spotlight of the stage, Patrizio Oliva continues to fight. This time, not for a world title, but for a social cause: the fight against bullying. The former Olympic and world boxing champion told his story on stage in front of almost three hundred students from five schools in Naples and the surrounding area: IC 5 Montale in Scampia, Gabelli-Colletta, Pertini in Afragola, Galiani and Diaz.
The meeting is part of the project “Education, training and values: Patrizio vs Oliva”, promoted by the cultural association Arteteca with the contribution of the Minister for Sport and Youth, through the Department for Sport, and with the support of Union Gas e Luce.
This cultural initiative aims to combat and reduce, to the point of eliminating, youth bullying behaviour that manifests itself in various forms of verbal, physical and psychological violence.
Awareness-raising, education, sharing and the promotion of a safe and welcoming school environment are the tools that the project aims to provide to all young people and families, in order to overcome the limits of punishment by replacing them with the power of a consciousness.
‘My show is aimed at young people,’ explained Oliva. ‘My experience shows that you can achieve your dreams even when you come from a difficult background. There are no shortcuts: only hard work and sweat lead to success. In an era dominated by social media, it is important to convey these values to prevent young people from going down dangerous paths. Sport is a powerful tool for education and personal growth.’
The show, based on the book Lo sparviero and directed by Alfonso Postiglione, saw Oliva playing himself, together with actress Rossella Pugliese in the role of the champion’s mother. After the performance, the actors from the TV film produced by Cinema Fiction for RaiUno also joined them on stage, with Ciro Minopoli in the role of the former Neapolitan boxer.
At the end of the performance, a lively debate was held with the students, moderated by Maurizio Marino, organiser of the project. Oliva sent a strong message against bullying: “Many of you take it lightly, but bullying leaves deep wounds. Being a bully today leads to being a criminal tomorrow. Study, educate yourselves: only in this way can you fight and win against crime”.
Also on stage was Professor Francesco Bocchini, lecturer in constitutional law at the University of Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli’, who underscored the importance of the initiative: ‘We must thank Patrizio Oliva and Rossella Pugliese for telling young people about real life. Each of them has the same fire within that pushed Patrizio not to give up’.
With the strength of his fists and the gentleness of his words, Patrizio Oliva continues his most important battle: educating young people about respect, determination and the value of life.
