Wunderkammer porta la storia dell’Ilva nell’ex fabbrica Pirelli. Che adesso è diventato Hubsuperstudio, polo per le arti performative in uno spazio di circa 1200 mq, nella Napoli est.
La rassegna itinerante ideata da Diego Nuzzo propone la messinscena Mare di ruggine, testo e regia Antimo Casertano con Daniela Ioia, Francesca De Nicolais, Luigi Credendino e Antimo Casertano.
Spiega il regista: «Mare di ruggine è un viaggio tra memoria collettiva e identità operaia, tra lotte sindacali, deindustrializzazione e ferite sociali lasciate dal tempo. Mare di ruggine dà voce a una generazione che ha creduto nella fabbrica come promessa di riscatto e si rivolge alle nuove generazioni, affinché’ possano immaginare un futuro diverso, libero dai mostri del passato. Il testo riflette sul valore del lavoro, sulla perdita di identità industriale e sulla necessità di ricostruire un senso comune. Un atto d’amore verso le radici sociali del nostro Paese, tra utopia e disincanto».
Un testo, questo, vincitore di molti riconoscimenti: dal Premio Nuove Sensibilità 2.0 2022 fino al Premio ANCT 2025 Premio Nazionale della Critica.
Il polo per le arti performative nasce dall’idea di due giovani, Sara e Igino Foglia di danza e musica. Un polo tecnologico attrezzato, interamente dedicato alle arti performative: danza, musica, teatro, fotografia, arte visiva e digitale e di tutte le discipline legate al mondo delle arti e dello spettacolo.

Wunderkammer/ Former Pirelli factory, Antimo Casertano stages ‘Mare di ruggine’ (Sea of rust) The story of Ilva: a journey into working-class identity
Wunderkammer brings the story of Ilva to the former Pirelli factory. Now known as Hubsuperstudio, it is a hub for the performing arts covering an area of approximately 1,200 square metres in eastern Naples.
The travelling festival conceived by Diego Nuzzo presents the performance Mare di ruggine (Sea of Rust), written and directed by Antimo Casertano with Daniela Ioia, Francesca De Nicolais, Luigi Credendino and Antimo Casertano.
The director explains: ‘Mare di ruggine is a journey through collective memory and working-class identity, through trade union struggles, deindustrialisation and the social wounds left by time. Mare di ruggine gives voice to a generation that believed in the factory as a promise of redemption and addresses the new generations, so that they can imagine a different future, free from the monsters of the past. The text reflects on the value of work, the loss of industrial identity and the need to rebuild a common sense. An act of love towards the social roots of our country, between utopia and disenchantment’.
This text has received numerous awards: from the Nuove Sensibilità 2.0 2022 award to the ANCT 2025 National Critics’ Award.
The performing arts centre was born from the idea of two young people, Sara and Igino Foglia, who love dance and music. It is a well-equipped technological centre entirely dedicated to the performing arts: dance, music, theatre, photography, visual and digital art, and all disciplines related to the world of arts and entertainment.
