Città dalla sindrome creativa. Di fantasia che si traduce in arte ce n’è tanta, ma occorre anche darle visibilità. Punta a questo obiettivo il Premio piazza Mercato ai giovani talenti che sarà consegnato domenica 22 giugno: un riconoscimento nato per valorizzare le nuove generazioni che si distinguono per creatività, impegno e innovazione in ambito artistico, culturale e imprenditoriale.
La manifestazione segna l’avvio ufficiale del ciclo di appuntamenti promossi dal Forum territoriale Mercato Orefici, una rassegna di iniziative culturali e sociali che animeranno l’area fino a luglio, con l’obiettivo di restituire centralità e vivacità a una delle piazze più emblematiche della città.
Il premio verrà consegnato nel corso di una giornata aperta alla comunità, con momenti ludici e visite gratuite svolte all’interno del “Villaggio della solidarietà”, allestito nell’area dalle associazioni del Settore Laicato coinvolte, e rappresenta un’occasione concreta per rafforzare il legame tra la tradizione storica del quartiere e le energie innovative delle nuove generazioni.
Sottolineano il valore dell’iniziativa, le parole di Giuseppe De Stefano, presidente del Forum territoriale Mercato Orefici: «Con questo premio vogliamo accendere un riflettore sui giovani che, con passione e competenza, stanno costruendo il futuro della nostra città. Piazza Mercato è un luogo simbolico, da sempre crocevia di scambi e cultura: farla tornare viva attraverso le storie di talento e rinascita è la nostra sfida più bella».
Il Forum territoriale Mercato Orefici é promosso dalla Fondazione di Comunità del Centro Storico di Napoli in collaborazione con Associazione Gioventù Cattolica – Odv, Consorzio Antico Borgo Orefici e Antiche Botteghe Tessili.

City with a creative syndrome. There is a lot of imagination that becomes art, but it also needs to be given visibility. The Piazza Mercato Prize for young talents that will be awarded on Sunday 22 June aims to achieve this goal: an award created to valorize the new generations that stand out for their creativity, commitment and innovation in the artistic, cultural and entrepreneurial fields.
The event marks the official start of the series of events promoted by the Mercato Orefici territorial Forum, a review of cultural and social initiatives that will animate the area until July, with the aim of restoring centrality and liveliness to one of the most emblematic squares of the city.
The prize will be awarded during a day open to the community, with moments of play and free visits carried out inside the “Solidarity Village”, set up in the area by the associations of the Lay Sector involved, and represents a concrete opportunity to strengthen the bond between the historical tradition of the neighborhood and the innovative energies of the new generations.
The value of the initiative is underlined by the words of Giuseppe De Stefano, president of the Mercato Orefici territorial forum: «With this award we want to shine a spotlight on the young people who, with passion and competence, are building the future of our city. Piazza Mercato is a symbolic place, always a crossroads of exchanges and culture: bringing it back to life through stories of talent and rebirth is our greatest challenge».
