Figura centrale e pietra fondante dell’Archivio che porta il suo nome, Eugenio Magno è stato uno degli ultimi grandi rappresentanti della Neoscuola di Posillipo, interprete autentico di una pittura capace di unire memoria, paesaggio, luce e sentimento.
Il suo tratto magico, pulito e immediatamente riconoscibile ha attraversato confini geografici e culturali, portando la sua arte in numerosi Paesi del mondo. Le sue opere sono state ritrovate e apprezzate in Russia, Svizzera, America Latina, Australia, Asia e in tutta Europa, testimoniando la forza universale del suo linguaggio pittorico.
Con lui scompare non solo un grande artista, ma anche un uomo di rara sensibilità, generosità e profondità. The Eugenio Magno Archive announces with deep sorrow the passing of Maestro Eugenio Magno, who died on the 14th of July. Born in 1944, the Maestro leaves behind an artistic, human and cultural legacy of extraordinary value.
A central figure and the founding stone of the Archive that bears his name, Eugenio Magno was one of the last great representatives of the Posillipo New School, an authentic exponent of a style of painting capable of uniting memory, landscape, light and emotion.
His magical, clean and instantly recognisable style transcended geographical and cultural boundaries, taking his art to numerous countries around the world. His works have been discovered and appreciated in Russia, Switzerland, Latin America, Australia, Asia and throughout Europe, bearing witness to the universal power of his pictorial language.
With his death, we have lost not only a great artist, but also a man of rare sensitivity, generosity and depth. The Eldavia Group, Daphne Lab, the DAMA Museum, Edizioni Scriptura and the Eugenio Magno Archive wish to express their eternal gratitude to the Maestro, remembering him forever in their hearts and memories not only for the greatness of his works, but also for his sincere affection, his kindness and his immense humanity.
