Alchimia.

Santa Maria Capua Vetere/ Centometriquadri Contemporary Art meets the alchemy of the soul
Alchemy. The spaces of the Centometriquadri Arte Contemporanea gallery have been transformed into a workshop of visual and conceptual ideas for the exhibition “Alchemy”, organised by Sergio Gioielli, which has just opened in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (Via Carlo Sant’Agata, 14, in the province of Caserta).
An emblematic title, Alchemy, which evokes the transmutation of matter and spirit, where artistic exploration and masterful craftsmanship merge to give life to new visual narratives. The event attracted a large audience of enthusiasts and collectors, drawn by an exhibition itinerary rich in facets and material dialogues.
Among the works on display, the piece that catches the eye and provokes deep, intimate reflection is “Crescita”, the powerful canvas by Tonia Erbino.
The artist tackles the delicate process of personal evolution with both sensitivity and resolve: that crucial moment in life when one feels the need to question one’s roots. Through vibrant painterly expression, the work depicts the painful yet necessary act of ‘pruning’ — the conscious severing of ties with the past and with one’s preconceptions — which leads not to annihilation, but to a newfound awareness.
It is only by shedding the superfluous that the roots, rather than breaking, recognise one another and grow stronger, allowing for a new, authentic blossoming. ‘Growth’ thus becomes a perfect metaphor for the theme of the entire exhibition: a veritable alchemy of the soul, in which inner transformation takes on form, colour and substance.
This exhibition is further proof of the cultural vitality of Centometriquadri Arte Contemporanea, which is able to present artistic visions that challenge the present and strike a deep chord with visitors.
