L’arte come dimensione educativa e formativa che può occupare spazi e prendere impegni sul territorio. Lunedì 8 maggio 2023, in occasione dell’ultimo giorno della mostra Jimmie Durham: humanity is not a completed project, a cura di Kathryn Weir, il Madre riserva a visitatori e visitatrici l’ingresso libero, proponendo inoltre, alle 18, una visita guidata gratuita al percorso espositivo.
Seguirà, alle 19, in Sala Madre, proiezione del documentario Sky dancers, introdotta dagli interventi di Angela Tecce (Presidente Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporanee), Antonio Giuseppe Martiniello (Presidente OfficinaKellerNapoli), Maria Thereza Alves (artista), Elena de Filippo (Presidente Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale), Fiamma Marchione (regista) e Alessia Acito (collaboratrice Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale).
Il video racconta il progetto realizzato e prodotto da OfficinaKellerNapoli in collaborazione con Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale, che ha visto il coinvolgimento attivo di Jimmie Durham (foto) e Maria Thereza Alves, a testimonianza del loro stretto legame con la città e il suo tessuto sociale.
I due artisti hanno tenuto un workshop con sedici ragazze e ragazzi provenienti da vari paesi del mondo che frequentano il corso di arti visive del Centro Interculturale Officine Gomitoli di Dedalus che vive l’arte come dimensione educativa e formativa che può occupare spazi e prendere impegni sul territorio.

Docufilm at the Madre Museum/ Sky dancers: young people taking a lesson in creativity with Jimmie Durham and Maria Thereza Alves

Art as an educational and formative dimension that can occupy spaces and make commitments on the ground. On Monday, May 8, 2023, on the occasion of the last day of the exhibition Jimmie Durham: humanity is not a completed project, curated by Kathryn Weir, Madre will reserve free admission for visitors and will also offer, at 6 p.m., a free guided tour of the exhibition.
This will be followed at 7 p.m. in the Sala Madre by a screening of the documentary Sky Dancers, introduced by speeches by Angela Tecce (President Fondazione Donnaregina per le arti contemporanee), Antonio Giuseppe Martiniello (President OfficinaKellerNapoli), Maria Thereza Alves (artist), Elena de Filippo (President Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale), Fiamma Marchione (director) and Alessia Acito (collaborator Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale).
The video tells the story of the project created and produced by OfficinaKellerNapoli in collaboration with Dedalus Cooperativa Sociale, which saw the active involvement of Jimmie Durham and Maria Thereza Alves, testifying to their close ties with the city and its social fabric.
The two artists held a workshop with sixteen girls and boys from various countries around the world who attend the visual arts course at Dedalus’ Officine Gomitoli Intercultural Center, which practices art as an educational and formative dimension that can occupy spaces and make commitments on the local area.
