In the mood for change. Così s’intitola la prima personale (foto) di Tiziana Tafuri che si inaugura oggi a Napoli, mercoledì 12 luglio, dalle 18 negli spazi della Shazar Gallery, in via Pasquale Scura.
L’artista napoletana, che vive e lavora a Barcellona, mette in scena la necessità del processo creativo e sviluppa linguaggi interiori fatti di sovrapposizioni e svuotamenti materici. La carta di una collezione di riviste assume valore pittorico diventando protagonista della tela.
Durate il trasferimento dalla ceramica (materia privilegiata dall’artista) alla carta, questa viene trattata con la tecnica del collage e decollage, i cui diversi strati strappati, usurati e sovrapposti, utilizzati come tavolozza di colori, contribuiscono alla narrativa dei lavori, evidenziando i luoghi di accumulo, di sovrapposizioni, interazioni e reazioni.
Le opere stesse assumono sembianze di volti, occhi, sguardi, in un primo momento attenti e sorpresi, protagonisti di fronte a questa indagine esplorativa, per far emergere che proprio quelle macchie, strappi e texture che li compongono, svelano le infinite direzioni di un cambio che portano uomo e natura a un rinnovamento perenne.

Exhibition/ Shazar Gallery: Tiziana Tafuri reveals the infinite directions of change
In the mood for change. This is the title of Tiziana Tafuri’s first solo exhibition opening today in Naples, Wednesday, July 12, from 6 p.m. in the spaces of Shazar Gallery, on Pasquale Scura Street.
The Neapolitan artist, who lives and works in Barcelona, stages the necessity of the creative process and develops inner languages made of superimpositions and material emptying. The paper from a magazine collection takes on pictorial value, becoming the protagonist of the canvas.
During the transfer from ceramics (the artist’s preferred material) to paper, the latter is treated with the technique of collage and decollage, whose different torn, worn and overlapping layers, used as a color palette, contribute to the narrative of the works, highlighting the places of accumulation, overlapping, interactions and reactions.
The works themselves take on the guise of faces, eyes, gazes, at first attentive and surprised, protagonists in the face of this exploratory inquiry, to bring out that those very stains, tears and textures that compose them, reveal the infinite directions of change that bring man and nature to a perpetual renewal.
In the mood for change will remain open until Sept. 8, 2023, Monday through Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and by appointment.
