Alessandra Grieco è Graziella 2025. Eletta domenica sera durante in Marina Grande durante la 75esima edizione della Sagra del Mare che fino al 30 luglio trasforma l’intera isola in un vero e proprio teatro a cielo aperto.
Ventunenne, nata e cresciuta a Procida, Grieco frequenta il terzo anno del corso di laurea in scienze della formazione primaria all’università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa. Obiettivo: diventare insegnante perché ama i bambini e crede profondamente nel valore dell’educazione.
Ha sfilato con grazia e autenticità nel tradizionale costume procidano, ispirato alla figura romantica del romanzo di Alphonse de Lamartine, tra le dieci finaliste, tutte procidane tra i 15 e i 25 anni, che hanno indossato i sontuosi abiti in seta ricamati in oro a mano (una veste ed un cappottino dal taglio orientale, con intagli e ricami in seta e fili d’oro, un crespo per i capelli e delle scarpette coordinate), a testimonianza delle contaminazioni culturali e degli scambi commerciali nei secoli dell’isola con il Mediterraneo e l’Oriente.
La nuova Graziella così ha commentato la vittoria: «Sono emozionata, ma ancor di più orgogliosa di rappresentare la mia comunità quest’anno. Dedico questa elezione alla mia famiglia, al mio fidanzato, alle mie compagne (in fondo siamo tutte Grazielle) a e a chi mi vuole bene».
Il festival racconta non soltanto la cultura e la tradizione dell’isola, ma anche il suo rapporto viscerale con il mare, infinito e vivo come i suoi isolani. Nasce, infatti, dalla volontà dei procidani di valorizzare le tradizioni marinaresche, le storie dei pescatori, la cultura del lavoro e della navigazione e i rituali della vita insulare, culminando con l’attesa elezione di Graziella, simbolo dell’identità, della femminilità e della cultura procidane.
Intanto la festa continua: stasera ci saranno The Kolors e domani toccherà a Joe Barbieri. Per agevolare la partecipazione agli eventi anche durante le ore serali, durante la Sagra saranno attivate corse straordinarie notturne da e per Procida, grazie alla compagnia Ippocampo.

Alessandra Grieco is Graziella 2025. She was elected on Sunday evening in Marina Grande during the 75th edition of the Sagra del Mare, which transforms the entire island into a veritable open-air theater until July 30th.
A 21-year-old, born and raised in Procida, Grieco is in her third year of a degree in Primary Education at Suor Orsola Benincasa University. Her goal: to become a teacher because she loves children and deeply believes in the value of education.
She paraded with grace and authenticity in the traditional Procida costume, inspired by the romantic figure from Alphonse de Lamartine’s novel, among the ten finalists, all from Procida between the ages of 15 and 25. They wore sumptuous silk dresses embroidered in gold by hand (an oriental-style dress and coat, with cutwork and embroidery in silk and gold thread, a hair bow, and matching slippers), a testament to the island’s centuries-old cultural fusions and trade with the Mediterranean and the Orient.
The new Graziella commented on her victory: “I’m thrilled, but even more proud to represent my community this year. I dedicate this election to my family, my boyfriend, my companions (after all, we are all Graziellas), and to those who love me.”
The festival showcases not only the island’s culture and traditions, but also its visceral relationship with the sea, as infinite and alive as its islanders. It was born from the desire of the people of Procida to celebrate their maritime traditions, the stories of fishermen, the culture of work and navigation, and the rituals of island life, culminating in the eagerly awaited election of Graziella, a symbol of Procida’s identity, femininity, and culture.
Meanwhile, the celebrations continue: tonight will feature The Kolors, and tomorrow it will be Joe Barbieri’s turn. To facilitate participation in the events even during the evening hours, special nighttime trips to and from Procida will be available during the festival, thanks to the Ippocampo company.
