Un appuntamento napoletano imperdibile, quello di Planta. Tra le proposte più suggestive della undicesima edizione un forum sullo zafferano, oltre a varie iniziative per il benessere fisico e mentale con lezioni di yoga e consigli per una sana alimentazione e buoni stili di vita. Ci sarà anche una sfilata di moda che presenterà abiti sono con tessuti vegetali.
Dal 2 al 4 maggio riecco la manifestazione organizzata nel Real Orto Botanico di Napoli, uno dei più ricchi e suggestivi giardini botanici d’Europa, nel cuore della città, che fa capo all’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.
L’iniziativa, che celebra il mondo della botanica, dell’ecosostenibilità e del giardinaggio, quest’anno si arricchisce di un programma ancora più variegato con esposizioni, laboratori, convegni e attività pratiche pensati per gli appassionati di giardinaggio, per professionisti del settore, per i bambini e per chiunque desideri avvicinarsi alla bellezza della natura.
Tema centrale del 2025 è la tutela ambientale con un particolare focus sulle piante autoctone e le tecniche di coltivazione a basso impatto ecologico. Saranno presenti numerosi vivaisti provenienti da tutta Italia, espositori e produttori locali che proporranno piante rare e varietà esclusive, oltre a soluzioni innovative per creare giardini rispettosi dell’ambiente. Tanti gli eventi speciali previsti.
Inaugurazione domani, venerdì 2 maggio alle 11, con il rettore della Federico II, Matteo Lorito, la prorettrice Angela Zampella, il direttore dell’Orto Botanico, Paolo De Luca, e l’ideatrice e coordinatrice della manifestazione, Rossella Muoio, funzionaria del Giardino federiciano.
E si aprirà proprio con lo zafferano, con un talk dedicato a questa pianta pregiata, che esplorerà la sua coltivazione, le sue proprietà e le potenzialità economiche grazie alla presenza di esperti del settore e produttori locali.
Sabato 3 maggio sarà dedicato a arte, cultura e moda con la presentazione del libro Arte, Cultura e Impresa e la sfilata di abiti realizzati esclusivamente con tessuti vegetali. Come ogni anno, non mancherà la sezione “Planta in Musica” che culminerà con il concerto della Fanfara del X Reggimento Arma dei Carabinieri.
Tra le novità, due concorsi di grande interesse: in collaborazione con AIAPP, è stato bandito il concorso per giovani progettisti dal titolo Erbacce, un’opportunità per i nuovi talenti di esprimere la loro creatività in ambito botanico e paesaggistico.
La premiazione di questo concorso avverrà sabato 3 maggio; rivolto alle scuole primarie della III Municipalità è il contest Il verde a scuola grazie al quale i più piccoli potranno esplorare la natura attraverso attività educative e creative. La premiazione si svolgerà domenica 4 maggio.
Non mancherà una sezione per l’infanzia: Bimbi in Planta permetterà a bambine e bambini di entrare in contatto con la natura attraverso giochi educativi e laboratori pratici: dalla piantumazione di piccole piante in vaso alla creazione di opere d’arte con materiali naturali, ogni attività è pensata per stimolare la curiosità dei più giovani e insegnare loro l’importanza della biodiversità e della sostenibilità.
L’ingresso alla manifestazione è gratuito e accessibile a tutti. Gli orari di apertura sono venerdì 2 maggio dalle 11 alle 20, sabato 3 e domenica 4 maggio dalle 9 alle 20.

Botanical Garden of Naples/ Planta: the gardening event is back. A conference on the qualities of saffron
An unmissable Neapolitan event, that of Planta. Among the highlights of the 11th edition are a forum on saffron and various initiatives for physical and mental well-being, with yoga classes and advice on healthy eating and lifestyle. There will also be a fashion show of clothes made from plant-based fabrics.
From the 2nd to the 4th of May, the exhibition will once again be held in the Real Orto Botanico di Napoli, one of the richest and most evocative botanical gardens in Europe, located in the heart of the city and belonging to the University of Naples Federico II.
The initiative, which celebrates the world of botany, eco-sustainability and gardening, will be enriched this year with an even more varied programme of exhibitions, workshops, conferences and practical activities for gardening enthusiasts, professionals, children and anyone who wants to get closer to the beauty of nature.

Numerous gardeners from all over Italy, exhibitors and local producers will be present, offering rare plants and exclusive varieties, as well as innovative solutions for creating eco-friendly gardens. The inauguration will take place tomorrow, Friday the 2nd of May, at 11 a.m., with the Rector of the Federico II University, Matteo Lorito, the Vice-Chancellor, Angela Zampella, the Director of the Botanical Garden, Paolo De Luca, and the creator and coordinator of the event, Rossella Muoio, an official of the Federico II Garden.
And it will open with saffron, with a conference dedicated to this precious plant, exploring its cultivation, properties and economic potential, thanks to the presence of experts in the sector and local producers.
Saturday the 3rd of May will be dedicated to art, culture and fashion, with the presentation of the book Art, Culture and Enterprise and a fashion show of clothes made exclusively from vegetable fabrics. As every year, the ‘Planta in Musica’ section will not be missing, with a concert by the Fanfare of the 10th Carabinieri Regiment.
Among the novelties, two competitions are of great interest: in collaboration with the AIAPP, the competition for young designers entitled “Erbacce” (Weeds) has been announced, an opportunity for new talents to express their creativity in the field of botany and landscaping.
There will also be an area for children: Bimbi in Planta will allow children to get in touch with nature through educational games and hands-on workshops: from planting small potted plants to creating works of art using natural materials, each activity is designed to stimulate the curiosity of the youngest visitors and teach them the importance of biodiversity and sustainability.
The event is free and open to all. Opening hours are Friday the 2nd from 11.00 to 20.00, Saturday the 3 rd and Sunday the 4 of May from 9.00 to 20.00.
