Ultima vela per Lucio Salzano. L’artista, che è anche regista teatrale e autore di format innovativi, espone a palazzo Venezia, in via Benedetto Croce 19, sette opere inedite per raccontare il confine tra memoria, sogno e libertà interiore. Dal 19 al 27 maggio, inaugurazione martedì prossimo alle 19. La mostra potrà essere visitata tutti i giorni dalle o10.30 alle 13.30 e dalle 16.30 alle 21.00.
L’autore chiude un ciclo pittorico che rappresenta uno dei momenti più maturi e intensi della sua ricerca artistica, in cui pittura, visione teatrale e linguaggio multimediale si fondono in un racconto evocativo e profondamente simbolico.
“Ultima vela…” diventa metafora dell’esistenza: la vela come immagine del viaggio umano, fragile e resistente allo stesso tempo, sospesa tra smarrimento e desiderio di rinascita.
Tra sogno e realtà, il blu assume il ruolo di spazio metafisico dell’anima e dell’infinito, mentre il gesto pittorico rapido e stratificato costruisce paesaggi interiori attraversati dalla memoria, dal tempo e dall’assenza. I “paesaggi interrotti” evocati da Salzano parlano di blackout interiori e sociali, ma anche della necessità di ritrovare una direzione, un approdo possibile, una forma di libertà.
Salzano utilizza pastelli a olio e tecniche miste su cartone: l’uso di materiale povero restituisce autenticità al gesto artistico. L’arte per lui è “una menzogna necessaria” che ci trasferisce in altre dimensioni.
Le sue opere sono presenti in importanti collezioni private in Italia e all’estero e sono state esposte in sedi prestigiose, tra cui il Museo Nazionale di San Martino, il Museo Crocetti, il Museo do Mar e la Picasso Gallery di Dubai.

Palazzo Venezia / Lucio Salzano paints a metaphor for existence in his last sail. Those inner landscapes traversed by memory
Last sail for Lucio Salzano. The artist, who is also a theatre director and creator of innovative formats, is exhibiting seven previously unseen works at Palazzo Venezia, 19 Via Benedetto Croce, exploring the boundary between memory, dreams and inner freedom. From the 19th to the 27th of May, with the opening next Tuesday at 7 pm. It will be open daily from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm and from 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm.
With this exhibition, the artist brings to a close a pictorial cycle representing one of the most mature and intense phases of his artistic exploration, in which painting, theatrical vision and multimedia language merge into an evocative and deeply symbolic narrative.
‘Ultima vela…’ (last sail) becomes a metaphor for existence: the sail as an image of the human journey, fragile and resilient at the same time, suspended between bewilderment and a desire for rebirth.
Between dream and reality, the colour blue takes on the role of a metaphysical space of the soul and the infinite, whilst the rapid, layered painterly gesture constructs inner landscapes traversed by memory, time and absence. The “interrupted landscapes” evoked by Salzano speak of inner and social blackouts, but also of the need to rediscover a direction, a possible landing place, a form of freedom.
Salzano uses oil pastels and mixed media on cardboard: the use of humble materials lends authenticity to the artistic gesture. For him, art is “a necessary lie” that transports us to other dimensions.
His works are present in important private collections in Italy and abroad and have been exhibited in prestigious venues, including the Museo Nazionale di San Martino, the Museo Crocetti, the Museo do Mar and the Picasso Gallery in Dubai.
