Un atteso ritorno. Quello di Desina (foto), festival indipendente dedicato alla grafica e alle culture visive. La quarta edizione si svolgerà da 9 al 12 aprile. Organizzato da 3 grafici campani, Stefano Pellone, Domenico Armatore e Nicola Feo insieme all’Accademia di Belle Arti e all’AIAP, verrà ospitato negli spazi de La Santissima Community Hub.
Oltre 40 eventi tra talk, workshop, mostre, performance e un book market dedicato all’editoria indipendente. Tema di quest’anno: “Resistenze visive” che invita a riflettere sul ruolo della grafica come strumento culturale e politico. Protagonisti di questa edizione figure internazionali del design come tra cui Paula Scher, Marina Willer e Jonathan Barnbrook.
Al tema è dedicato anche un contest rivolto ai designer under 30, chiamati a progettare un poster capace di interpretare in modo personale il concetto di resistere attraverso l’immaginario. I 20 progetti selezionati saranno esposti durante il festival.
Tra gli appuntamenti centrali la mostra “Resistenze. La grafica prende posizione” che ripercorre la storia della comunicazione visiva italiana legata all’impegno politico e sociale attraverso manifesti, libri, dischi e progetti grafici che hanno segnato il dibattito culturale del Paese.
La mostra sarà inaugurata dopo la presentazione del programma giovedì 9 aprile alle 11 nella struttura di Vico Trinità delle Monache, 1. Interverranno Giuseppe Gaeta, direttore dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, Enrica D’Aguanno, coordinatrice della Scuola di Progettazione Artistica per l’Impresa dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, Francesco Ermanno Guida, docente del Politecnico di Milano e Presidente dell’AIAP, e Gianluca Picone, Direttore Generale Royal Group Hotels & Resorts.
Per la prima volta il festival verrà accolto in un’unica sede: La Santissima Community Hub è l’innovativo progetto di rigenerazione urbana temporanea ideato da Urban Value by Ninetynine con Coop4art, che insieme ad Agenzia del Demanio, Comune di Napoli e Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio ha trasformato l’ex Ospedale Militare di Napoli in uno spazio culturale e creativo nel cuore della città.

Santissima Community Hub/ ‘Desina’ is back in Naples: an independent festival celebrating graphic design and visual culture. Resisting through the power of imagination
A long-awaited return: that of Desina, an independent festival dedicated to graphic design and visual cultures. The fourth edition will take place from the 9th to the 12th of April. Organised by three graphic designers from Campania – Stefano Pellone, Domenico Armatore and Nicola Feo – in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts and the AIAP, it will be hosted at La Santissima Community Hub.
Over 40 events, including talks, workshops, exhibitions, performances and a book market dedicated to independent publishing. This year’s theme: ‘Visual resistance’, inviting us to reflect on the role of graphic design as a cultural and political tool. This edition’s key figures include international design personalities such as Paula Scher, Marina Willer and Jonathan Barnbrook.
A contest is also dedicated to this theme, aimed at designers under 30, who are invited to design a poster that offers a personal interpretation of the concept of resistance through imagery. The 20 selected projects will be exhibited during the festival.
One of the key events is the exhibition “Resistenze. La grafica prende posizione” (Resistance: Graphic Design takes a position) which traces the history of Italian visual communication linked to political and social activism through posters, books, records and graphic design projects that have shaped the country’s cultural debate.
The exhibition will open following the presentation of the programme on Thursday the 9th of April at 11am at the venue at Vico Trinità delle Monache, 1. Speakers will include Giuseppe Gaeta, Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples; Enrica D’Aguanno, Coordinator of the School of Artistic Design for Business at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples; Francesco Ermanno Guida, lecturer at the Milan Polytechnic and President of AIAP; and Gianluca Picone, General Manager of Royal Group Hotels & Resorts.
For the first time, the festival will be hosted in a single venue: La Santissima Community Hub is the innovative temporary urban regeneration project conceived by Urban Value by Ninetynine in collaboration with Coop4art, which, together with the State Property Agency, the City of Naples and the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape, has transformed the former Military Hospital of Naples into a cultural and creative space in the heart of the city.
