You’re out tenuta a Berlino negli anni 2014-16.

Movimento Aperto / As a performer and artist, Liuba crosses boundaries of humanity

Liuba: boundaries of humanity. A performer and artist based in Milan, Liuba will be in Naples at the ‘Movimento aperto’ exhibition space, run by Ilia Tufano, to open the exhibition on Thursday the 15th of October 2026 from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm, at Via Duomo 290/c. The exhibition will remain open until 15 November, on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 pm to 7 pm and on Thursdays from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
She will also be in Naples on the7th March 2027 in Piazza del Plebiscito, where she will stage a participatory performance, building on the piece entitled ‘You’re out’ presented in Berlin between 2014 and 2016. Her performances form the centrepiece of a multifaceted project comprising photographs, videos, poems and paintings.
The exhibition, hosted by Movimento Aperto, offers an overview of Liuba’s long-standing career. It includes projects dating back to 1999–2001, such as Le mummie vincenti, when the young Liuba, having returned to Milan after studying at DAMS in Bologna, observed Milanese life during those years with a critical eye.
And then there are his more recent works, those linked to the ‘You’re out’ project carried out in Berlin between 2014 and 2016, and finally his most recent work, ‘Borders of humanity’.
In the introduction accompanying the exhibition, Stefano Taccone describes a body of work ‘with an extremely precise and multifaceted language which, taking the body as its starting point, finds a sort of Wagnerian synthesis of the arts in participatory performance and in its technical-virtual reproducibility, as well as its immediate and physical nature, exemplified precisely by “You’re out”, whose video the viewer encounters, by way of an introduction, upon entering the exhibition space. An operation – or rather, a situation – in which Liuba works at the intersection between the materiality of bodies, with their inevitable bulk, and emotions on the verge of the uncontrollable, impulses that must race against consciousness itself, suggesting a subtle yet also quite explicit social metaphor’.
Throughout her artistic journey, Liuba draws on key concepts such as citizenship and inclusion – guiding principles of a soul seeking to interpret reality. And to shed light on refugees, caught between the left’s rhetoric of inclusion and the right’s ‘Italians first’ stance. The exhibition is supported by the BAD Museum (Bunker Art Division) in Casandrino.
